Last week we launched an e-book, documenting six months of Personal and Professional Learning from our AISWA PL group of educators. Sincere thanks to the 22 teachers from the group, who accepted the invitation to contribute their learning journey, resources, planning materials, and the voices of their students, to this exceptional publication, which we now share with our Global Education community.

Throughout this Action Learning program, we were inspired by the work of David Price, we attended online workshops with Chris Harte and Ron Ritchhart, and ‘the icing on the cake’ came in the form of a bespoke, full-day (in person) workshop with Kath Murdoch! We were indeed fortunate to engage with such wonderful, caring experts along the way. Our teachers were ‘fully-loaded’ with knowledge and a toolkit of thinking strategies to explore Project-based learning (PBL), Design Thinking, and Inquiry-based ideas, guided by their students’ desire to explore global issues.

We also sort inspiration from Powering Up Children, by Guy Claxton and Becky Carlzon, also the Learning Pioneers Community, who had been following our #PurposefulPedagogies journey via Twitter posts, cheering on our educators, and connecting with like-minded change-makers!

Global Competencies in Action is a collection of socially purposeful teaching and learning projects, by students in Western Australia, from Year 3 to Year 10.
Enjoy these stories, hear the voices of our children, and congratulate these teachers for their energy and bravery to make a difference…we encourage you to engage, connect and leave a comment below.
